Since my writing schedule is still tight, I’ve decided to share a piece I illustrated in 2010 as an exercise to design a logo inspired from Major League Baseball’s.
I’m keeping this idea in the back of my head for a future game to design.
I love the insight that Star Citizen’s developers are providing in the development process. The link above provides information on how they go about designing the logos they will use in-game. The level of effort being deployed to produce a back story here is very encouraging. It speaks to the attention to detail that Cloud Imperium Games are devoting to creating a living, breathing universe.
I get the sense that it has been a long time since anyone has gone through such effort. Seeing this makes me feel like a giddy kid again, playing some of Chris Roberts’ original digital offerings. I hope it all comes together brilliantly for them.
As a side note, the entry on what it’s like working for Hollywood as a graphic designer blew my mind. Angels and Demons sets 90% graphics work? BAM! I’ll leave it at that.
